Sleeping Alone

The dogs are howling far away
the trees are wheeping, summer breeze
little birds on the top of the hill
whisper, nighttime is coming still
On the corner 50 yards from here
a bus stops for the last time today

At this time you can only hear drip-drops
The water is slowly dropping down
From the rooftop, on the playground
That's left alone at this time
And I hope that some day memories stay
I'm not alone here, just drinking a good time away

Ohh you’ll be sleeping alone
you will be dreaming alone
like little birds do

The sweet summer nights always
seem so misty at the daytime
To be there is more then a daydream
when the moon shatters at my glass
Whisky and beer won’t ever last
I whish you were here to toast to the past

Ohh you’ll be sleeping alone
you will be dreaming alone
like little birds do

Ohh you’ll be sleeping alone
you will be dreaming alone
like little birds do

Whisky and beer won’t ever last
I whish you were here to toast to the past
